A year in DECA is one full of fun, exciting, and enriching activities. Most of them happen right in our school, while some can take you across the country! Here's a partial list of activities our members may participate in during a typical year.
Hornet Corner School Store / Beat WatkinsTM
DECA operates a working store inside LHHS. Through the Hornet Corner, students have a learning lab to develop their skills. We also design and market the popular Beat WatkinsTM line of merchandise! Click on the link for more info.
American Red Cross Blood Drives
Our Chapter typically runs three blood drives each school year. The drives are member-operated and also afford the chance to earn scholarship money.
Community Service
In addition to the blood drives we host, our chapter has the opportunity to design and/or participate in any number of service projects. One of our favorites is reading to elementary students at LH West during Right to Read Week! A short list of others includes our work with the Maria Tiberi Foundation against Distracted Driving, the LEADS Center, and many student-devised learning projects raising funds and awareness for those in need in our own community.

Officer Positions
One of the tenets of DECA is the development of future leaders. Each fall we hold elections of our Chapter Officers. We are also proud to have elected five Licking Heights students to become Ohio DECA State Officers, including two Presidents.
Columbus Blue Jackets Sports Marketing Day
We join DECA and BPA (Business Professionals of America) chapters from throughout Ohio for the CBJ's annual sports marketing day in October. We learn about the operation of the team from execs and media members, and skate on the ice before we attend that evening's hockey game!
Leadership Conferences & Competitions
LH DECA participates in at least three of these cornerstone events annually. Students meet and compete with their peers from other schools around Ohio and beyond, learn from professionals across many industries, and grow as individuals and as leaders. Click on the link for more info.
Holiday Party
A celebration before we head out for Winter Break! Breakfast, music, and a gift exchange highlight this fun annual event.
